Hello everybody! This post has been along time coming. After a very busy month there's a lot of catching up to do so here is a quick recap - let's begin.
Firstly, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year! No sooner had the time off from work started than it was time to return. But that's just the way it goes for everyone. We all know a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll cheat and quickly recap with some piccies!
Work's Christmas Bash (December 2nd)
This year, Ryder Systems held their Christmas do at Ribby Hall Village and had a James Bond themed evening. Uncle Mike, Heidi, Dave and Michelle shared a cottage with Clare and me. The evening was great and they had casino tables and a band! Not to mention lots of complementary drinks to get the mood going. Prizes were awarded for best fancy dress, sadly Simmy didn't win the fancy dress price, despite shaving his hair and wearing lots of make-up. Don't confuse Simmy's outfit with Uncle Mike ;-)
Dave and Michelle conjured up a hearty full-English, mmm!
Happy Birthday Lisa!
In honour of the birthday girl, we went for a Sunday dinner to Papa's in Poulton (top notch!) Here you can see an assortment of photographs - Ian is just performing a pre-dinner tooth check, and I particularly like the last one of all the old farts. Danny and me decided that of all the tables we had sat at in the past, this was our favourite spot.
Christmas Shopping in Kendal
Every year we go some place in the name of Christmas shopping and never usually buy anything other that perhaps something for ourselves. This year was a big exception and I whole heartedly recommend Kendal for Christmas shopping! Unlike most town centres around the UK, Kendal isn't one of these dull places where you find WHSmith's, Boots and Marks and Spencers; infact there's a shed-load of unique shops selling great things - you actually stand a chance of getting something unusual. Plus by a freak accident our planned hotel upgraded us to a nearby nicer hotel whose name eludes me for the moment (when I remember I'll update this).
I totally failed to seize the picture taking moments due to being saddled with shopping bags, push chairs and the like. What a poor excuse. Anyway, enjoy the views of our stunning hotel room. For more festive ones, you can take a look at last year's trip to Leeds.
Christmas Parties
Abigail and her friends had a very busy social diary; and look! There's Auntie Boo!
