Ryan's Second WeekHelping HandsDave's Stag Do in Dublin, March 2006
Recently, Clare and I made a decision that we want to move house. We have lived in our current home for nearly six years and it has been a fantastic first home. It has seen Clare and me transition from girl-friend/boy-friend to husband and wife, and then into mother and father to Abigail. This was the perfect DINKY-dwelling (Duel Income, No Kids Yet) but as we plan to have a bigger family we will feel that we need more space. We have seriously considered extending this house, but believe that the size and layout of the house and land will place too many constraints on creating the much desired space. When we looked at the other houses it became obvious that we would get more value for our money by moving.

Having accepted our position we have made the decision to move. With the conditions in the housing market, each passing month makes our move potentially more expensive. So we need to act. Recent weekends have been spent de-cluttering and making quick-win improvements that fix obvious turn-offs to potential buyers. Until now, I hadn't blogged about our house-move plans and we were officially listed at the estate agents about two weekends ago. On Monday we received an offer which we have now accepted. All good so far.

For a couple of weekends now, our house has been in 'show home' mode, with many of things that make it our house 'de-personalised' away. We also fixed many snags that Clare and me have put up since moving in. In all the time we've lived here, our house has never looked so fine!

I like the way the house looks "30's" but inside is very modern. Almost exactly like mine and Joc's first house - certainly in layout. Hope the new place gives you room to breath - and extend if and when you need to. I keep planning a tower... ;)

I love the place, how much for it!? :D

Jokes aside, it looks very neat and it must be hard for you two to be leaving it... All those memories... On the other side moving to a new place, house hunting (have you started yet?) must be exciting!

Hi Lox - we have found our next house and we've made and offer which has been accepted. We are now waiting for the legal process to happen. It's very frustrating, I am used to eBay-style purchasing with rapid PayPal payment, but I expect this will take a minimum of a month to all come together.
