A couple of Sundays ago we went to visit Chris, Linda and Daniel to meet their new family member, Joshua. I had forgotten what calmness a new baby brings to a house but we all knew to speak in the traditional calm, quiet voice. Everyone except Abigail and Daniel that is who were their usual vocal selves.
It was great to see Daniel and Abigail play together and we stayed for dinner and were able to witness Abigail and Daniel's first cousin sit-down. This was a strange new perspective for Chris and me who had spent many meals as kids sat together on the kids-table watched upon by parents. This time, we were the parents stepping in to pick peas off the carpet and enforcing the "don't leave the table yet" rule. Clearly a milestone in the circle of life (and all that).
